Tides of March was created in the still and silent moments of COVID-19 isolation. I went into Lock Down the month of March of 2020. I found that in the beginning, I was very excited to be home, working from my table. no commute, no pressure to dress up, no one to interrupt my day constantly and distract me from doing my daily tasks.

It wasn’t long, a few months, until the tide had turned and I couldn’t wait to get back into the office and see people. I was lonely, my children were unable to see me as I was high risk. I missed them horribly. I missed the contact of friends around a table of drinks, of seeing a movie at the theater, of being able to go to the beach and sit on the shore without being afraid of being fined.

But with all the free time to be with myself and I, I was able to carve out more time to paint. I explored a limited palette and fell in love. I tried new mail order paints, colours, techniques, and surfaces, danced in the living room and painted some more.
